We are going to visit the Antipodes, the point on the Earth's surface that is diametrically opposite to us. In Spain we are in the antipodes of New Zealand.

Australia and New Zealand are the most important English-speaking countries in Oceania. In this WEBQUEST we are going to learn more about Australia and New Zealand.

Have a good trip!

Australia is a country comprising the mainland of the Australian continent, the island of Tasmania and numerous smaller islands. It is the world's sixth-largest country by total area. Australia's capital is Canberra, and its largest urban area is Sydney. Other important cities are Melbourne, Brisbane and Perth.

New Zealand is an island nation in the southwestern Pacific Ocean. The country geographically comprises two main islands: the North and the South Islands. New Zealand is situated some 1,500 kilometres east of Australia across the Tasman Sea. Because of its remoteness, it was one of the last lands to be settled by humans. New Zealand's capital city is Wellington, while its most populous city is Auckland.
